Shaka Samvat

The era used by India's national calendar.

Epoch 78 CE. It is the era of the Indian national calendar and of most published panchangas in the south and west. Vikram Samvat, epoch 57 BCE, is the northern civil era and runs 135 years ahead of Shaka.
