Rahu Kalam
A daily period traditionally avoided for beginnings.
One eighth of the daytime, its position rotating by weekday. It is avoided for starting things, not for continuing them, and it is not held to affect an observance already fixed by its own rule — a festival does not move because Rahu Kalam falls on it.
