Midday — the third of five parts of the day.
The middle fifth of the daytime. It governs Rama Navami and Ganesh Chaturthi, both of which place a birth at noon.

- Ganesh Chaturthi The birth of Ganesha. A clay image is installed at home or in a public pandal, worshipped for one, three, five, seven or ten days according to the household's custom, and then immersed.
- Rama Navami The birth of Rama, at noon in Ayodhya. It closes Chaitra Navaratri. Kept with recitation of the Ramayana, a midday birth ceremony, and in many regions a procession.
