Why The reason behind it
He is the avatara who appears when the warrior order has become predatory, and the tradition holds him still living โ one of the chiranjivi. The coastal association is territorial: the Konkan and Kerala coast are held to be land he reclaimed from the sea, which is why his temples cluster there.
