Why The reason behind it
The story is a bargain: a bull was raiding the groundnut fields, and the farmers agreed to offer the first crop each year if it stopped. The temple's bull is that bull, and the fair is the agreement being honoured โ an unusually specific and unusually local origin for a city festival.
