Jagaddhatri is understood as the Goddess in her sattvic aspect, after Durga's rajasic and Kali's tamasic — the third of a sequence rather than a separate devotion. The elephant under the lion is Karindrasura, and read symbolically it is the ego the world-bearer holds down.
